Capri was stunning although you will probably see me put that about almost every country we went to. We took a boat from Sorrento out to the island of Capri for a day trip and the waves were ridiculous. We were soaked by the time we got there but it was worth it. Is Capri worth a visit? Yes. One of the locals told us if you are down in Sorrento (or near there) the must see's are Pompeii, Capri and the Amalfi Coast (Ravello, Positano and Amalfi). The day trip wasn't even too bad cost wise. You have to pay extra if you want to take the row boats through the grotto but mind you if the waves are bad they won't allow you too. People were trying to plan their excursions around that but it was impossible to because you don't know until the day of how the waves will be. Summer would be a little bit better for more consistent relaxed waves.
Oh and when you go don't forget LOTS of water & a towel or you'll have to buy one
Theres three grottos at Capri, the green, blue and a white grotto.
To get to the top of the island we had to walk a ridiculous amount of steps but it was so worth it for the views at the top. At the top there was tons of little shops and food places. We passed tons of little homes that were on steep paths and I had no idea how people got their groceries and things inside their house.
At the bottom there were a couple rock beaches. It was such a hot day, so after lunch we laid out.
I hoped to spot George Clooney but no such luck.
P.S. we didn't take our tripod here and I immediately regretted it because if only you saw the pictures we asked people to take of us...
Love, Cait
